This unforgettable 10-day Tanzania safari blends scenic beauty, cultural encounters, and world-class wildlife viewing. Your adventure begins with a refreshing visit to Materuni Waterfalls, where you enjoy a coffee tour hosted by the Chagga community and a serene hike to the stunning falls. The journey continues to Arusha National Park, offering close-range wildlife encounters, lush forests, and breathtaking views of Mount Meru.

You then head to Tarangire National Park, renowned for its ancient baobabs and large elephant herds. From here, the safari expands into the legendary Serengeti, where days are spent tracking lions, cheetahs, and giraffes, and–depending on the season–the Great Migration. After immersive game drives, you descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the world’s most spectacular wildlife sanctuaries, home to rhinos, big cats, and abundant plains game. Your final stop is Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its tree-climbing lions, diverse birdlife, and beautiful groundwater forests. The safari concludes with a scenic drive back to Arusha, marking the end of an enriching and memorable journey.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrive at JRO/Arusha:

You will be picked up from the Kilimanjaro International Airport by our company representative and then assist at the airport and after going through Immigration, Baggage Claim and Customs, Transfer to Tulia Boutique Hotel and Spa to overnight on Bed and Breakfast basis.

Day 2 – Materuni Waterfall and Coffee Plantation:

After an early breakfast, you will drive to Moshi region. The tour starts with a walk to Materuni Waterfall. It is an opportunity to see how local fruit like avocados, mangos, lemons, and bananas grow, as well as learn some of the local history, traditions, village economy, agricultural and cultural life. When you get to the waterfall, you can refresh yourself in the natural pool, so swimsuits will come in handy! The tour will continue with a visit to the local village lying in the coffee plantations. The villagers will demonstrate the process of coffee farming and guide you through the preparation of coffee from a bean to a cup. Sing and dance along with the Chaga people as they are grinding, roasting and boiling the beans. When the coffee is ready, villagers will serve lunch which will be a traditional Chagga meal. After the tour, you will drive back to Arusha to stay overnight at Tulia Boutique Hotel & Spa on Full Board basis.

Day 3 – Arusha National Park:

Pick-up from your hotel at 08:30 AM, by your driver and then proceed to Arusha National Park where you will start your day with an adventure walking safari. The park has an incredible variety of fauna and flora, which cannot fail to impress. Hollywood also chose this region to film the movie “Hatari” in which Hardy Kruger starred alongside the legendary John Wayne. Your day trip will include a visit to the Ngurdoto Crater. Buffaloes, waterbucks, giraffes, warthogs, zebras and baboons can be seen all year round as well as many different bird species. Only a few other national parks in Tanzania give you such an opportunity and it is something that should not be missed. Lunch will be taken at a picnic place and in the afternoon, you will continue your tour in the safari vehicle through the Arusha National Park. In the afternoon you will drive to Tulia Boutique Hotel & Spa to overnight on Full Board basis.

Day 4 – Tarangire National Park:

After breakfast, you will be picked-up at 08:30 AM by your guide from your hotel in Arusha and after an approximately 2-hour drive you will reach the Tarangire National Park. As you enter the park, your guide will open the roof for a better viewing experience. Tarangire is home to the largest elephant herds in the north of Tanzania. Giraffes, buffaloes, lions, zebras, wildebeests as well as various antelopes and gazelles can also be spotted here. The landscape is made up of seasonal marshes and a seemingly endless tree savannah with its mighty baobab trees. After extensive game drives in the park, you will stay overnight at Tarangire Simba Lodge on Full Board basis.

Day 5 – Serengeti National Park:

We’ll take an early breakfast, as we’ve got a big day of exploration and adventure ahead of us!  We’ll begin the day with the scenic drive towards the Serengeti. Along the way, we’ll pass through the mist-shrouded rainforests of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where you might be lucky enough to glimpse cape buffalo, baboons, or even elephants and leopards in the dense undergrowth. It’s a nearly four-hour drive to the Serengeti park gates, but you can choose to break up the drive with one or both of the below optional activities for an extra cost:

Olduvai Gorge Museum: Sometimes known as the Cradle of Mankind, the Olduvai Gorge Museum commemorates some of the oldest evidence of human habitation ever found. Here you can see some of the oldest fossil evidence in the world of human habitation, visit the Olduvai Gorge Museum to learn more about the human journey, and take in the stunning views of this stark gorge country. Stay overnight at Serengeti Heritage Luxury Tented Camp on Full Board basis.

Day 6 – Full Day at Serengeti National Park:

After breakfast, you will depart for Serengeti National Park with an optional visit to the Maasai Village or Olduvai Gorge (Millions of years ago, the site was that of a large lake, the shores of which were covered with successive deposits of volcanic ash. Excavation work there was pioneered by Louis and Mary Leakey beginning in 1931. The Serengeti National park covers 14,763 km² (5,700 square miles) of grassland plains and Savannah as well as river trine forest and woodlands. The park lies in the north of the country, bordered to the north by the national Tanzania and Kenyan border, where it is continuous with the Maasai Mara National Park Reserve. Stay overnight at Serengeti Heritage Luxury Tented Camp on Full Board basis.

Day 7 – Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority:

Wake ups call at 06:00 AM, in order to have just a cup of hot coffee then proceeds for the early morning game drive, this morning game drive is very important as you will be able to witness the early morning kills from the big five only if you will be lucky enough. After the game drive back to the Lodge at 9:30am in order to have your main breakfast, there after you will check out the Lodge and proceed with game drives en-route to Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority. Stay overnight at Embalakai Tented Camps on Full Board basis.

Day 8 – Ngorongoro Crater Tour:

After an early breakfast you will drive down the steep and narrow road that takes you into the crater. The slopes are forested but soon the landscape changes to Savannah. Here the wildlife is just breath-taking and with a little luck you can observe the “Big Five” – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard – in just a few hours. You should also see warthogs, wildebeests, zebras, hippos and some of the more than 500 bird species of the area. After a morning dedicated game viewing and a picnic lunch, you will leave the crater in the early afternoon to drive to Marera Valley Lodge to stay overnight on Full Board basis.

Day 9 – Lake Manyara National Park – Drive Back to Arusha:

After breakfast, depart for Lake Manyara National Park for game drive, Lake Manyara is a shallow freshwater lake in Tanzania. It is said to be the “loveliest (lake) in Africa,” Lake Manyara is covering 127 square miles (329 km2) of Lake Manyara National Park, the lake’s alkaline waters cover approximately 89 square miles (231 km2). It is famous for a good number of baboons and birdlife, also home to herbivores such as hippos, impalas, elephants, wildebeests, buffalo, warthogs, and giraffes, giant fig trees and mahogany seen in the groundwater forest immediately around the park gates, and then proceeds back to Tulia Boutique Hotel & Spa to overnight on Bed and Breakfast basis.

Day 10 – Airport Departure Transfer:

After breakfast, you will be provided a private departure transferred to Arusha Airport/ Kilimanjaro International Airport to fly to Zanzibar Island or to fly back home!
